Epic fundraising effort by the Junior Academy

Our Junior Academy athletes undertook a mammoth fundraising effort on the 23 September with our J15, J16 and J17 athletes all completing a marathon in pairs on the rowing machine. The weather gods smiled on us and allowed the event to take place outdoors and it was a fantastic day of activity with the junior parents providing food, the J14’s doing their normal rowing sessions on the water and then the parents taking to the water themselves.

In all, the juniors rowed a whopping 650km in total on the ergs and raised in excess of £6000 which was an amazing amount.

A huge thanks to everyone who took part, to the parents for their help on the day, to the coaches who ran the event, to all the juniors who took part but especially to everyone who donated. The money is going directly to providing new equipment for the Junior Academy so it can continue to develop.
