(Not the) York Small Boats Head

Sadly our racing season had been blighted by lots of race cancellations due to either flooding or high winds and unfortunately York Small Boats Head was no exception.

With a whopping 30+ crews entered, it was decided last minute that if we couldn’t race at York, then we may as well just do it on our own canal (the only rowing stretch which doesn’t flood!).

With two days notice, Gav organised a three division head race, the junior parents put on a fantastic amount of food, and the club members decided to cram in as much racing as they could.

With 44 boats racing, we had crews racing all the way from J14 through to Masters C/D with some great competition between the crews.

Thanks to Gav for organising on short notice, to the junior parents for their catering and to everyone who assisted with marshalling and timekeeping.
