England Success for Dan and Katie at the Home International Rowing Regatta

Leeds Rowing Club had it’s first ever England representation at the Home International Rowing Regatta.

Dan Jones and Katie Mole were selected to row for England following trials earlier this month, with Dan selected to race in the Lightweight Single Scull and Mens Quad and Katie selected to race in the Women’s Single Scull and Women’s Quad as well as both racing in the Mens and Women’s 500m sprint event.

The Home International Rowing Regatta is an opportunity for top athletes not selected for the GB Squad to race for their country, and is a stepping stone for many to then move into the GB Squad.

The results from the Home International Rowing Regatta were:

Dan - Lightweight 1x (England) 1st place, Mens 4x (England) 1st place, Mens 4x 500m sprint (England) 4th place.

Katie - Women’s 1x (England) 1st place, Women’s 4x (England) 2nd place, Women’s 4x 500m sprint (England) 1st place.

A huge congratulations to both for winning two events each and a thank you to both athletes for again representing the club at the highest levels. The club is hugely proud of their commitment as athletes and as club members who have been part of the fabric of the club. We wish both athletes the best for the next part of their journey!
