British Rowing Junior Championships

Our Junior Academy athletes headed across the border up to Scotland to compete at the 2023 British Rowing Junior Championships.

The three day event at Strathclyde Park was a challenging event, with our athletes racing over 1000m and 2000m.

We took our largest ever contingent of juniors to the Championships with athletes competing at J14 through to J18 events. The conditions were incredibly challenging at times but our juniors performed incredibly well, especially considering for some they had only been rowing for a few months.

Our results were as follows -

  • WJ14 4x+ 2nd C Final

  • WJ15 1x 1st B Final

  • J15 4x+ 3rd D Final

  • J14 2x 4th A Final

  • WJ15 2x 6th B Final

  • J18 2x 2nd E Final

  • WJ14 2x 1st C Final

  • WJ15 4x+ 4th C Final

  • J14 4x+ 4th B Final

  • J16 2x 4th E Final

To make three B Finals and to be 4th in the A Final was a fantastic achievement and marked our most successful junior season ever.

A huge thanks to all of the parents who travelled up to Scotland, to all of the supporters and to Rose’s dad for towing. Finally a special thanks to our junior coaches for all of their hard work over the season preparing the juniors for this event and to our fantastic junior athletes for their hard work, enthusiasm and dedication this season.
