East Riding Head

Leeds Rowing Club invites you to take part in the East Riding Head of the River Race. The event is a 5000m Head Race on the Aire-Calder Canal near Goole, East Yorkshire. The racing stretch is a straight line course, which does not flood.

This is our first ever event, and we welcome clubs to take part. It is also the 200th anniversary of the town of Goole so is a special year to be taking place.

Full details on the event can be found on the posters below.

Entries open on Tuesday 25 November 2025, and formally close on Thursday 29 January 2026. Please note events are limited to 70 boats per division.

Crews taking part should ideally have a minimum average of 400 CRI for the eights, and 200 CRI for fours / quads.
